Social Engineering

What: What is Social Engineering?

Social engineering engagements are an evaluation of the non technical aspects of organizational security - identifying vulnerabilities in physical, employee or organizational security.

Companies establish policies (whether for compliance requirements or best practices) and provide training to employees; however, there is no benchmark for employee adherence. High Bit Security customers didn't believe their personnel would reveal sensitive access data to their systems, nor that their personnel would provide direct access to a complete stranger to company technology resources, but these are some of the findings from real engagements we have performed.

Companies today are under a variety of pressures, including protection of sensitive customer data, protection of internal data about employees, protection of intellectual property, external compliance requirements, internal company policy compliance and physical security. Regardless of the level of preparation a company has performed, social engineering engagements expose real and serious security vulnerabilities - enabling our customers to improve their security posture. These engagements are often performed to compliment Penetration Testing or Security Consulting engagements.

High Bit Security generates customized engagements based on desired customer objectives, starting with a collaborative session to define the social engineering engagement objectives.
